THREE MEMBERS of the club's 2013 SANFL League squad were taken by AFL clubs in the 2013/14 NAB AFL Draft.

Reigning A.R.McLean Medallist Sam Gray and young underage player Luke Reynolds were selected by Port Adelaide and Carlton respectively in Wednesday's rookie draft.

It means Gray, who also finished second in the 2013 Magarey Medal count, will remain at Alberton in 2014 as a rookie midfielder.

Reynolds will on the other hand join Michael Malthouse's Blues at Princes Park after playing as part of South Australia's Under-18 National Championships side this year.

Port Adelaide's SANFL football manager Scott Peters praised both Gray and Reynolds for finding a place on an AFL list.

"It goes without saying Sam was a high achiever last season and it's great to see him rewarded with an AFL list spot," Peters told portadelaidefc.com.au.

"It's even better that we get to keep him here as he'll be a great link between our SANFL League and Academy structure and our AFL list.

"Luke is a product of our Talented Player Pathway after joining us from North Haven.

"He's had two busy years with us playing in the AFL-AIS Academy, state footy committments and obviously playing for our senior and underage teams."

Reynolds also played in the club's 2011 Under-18 premiership team and made his league debut against Central District in Round 19 this year.

The duo's selection comes on the back of Sean Lemmens's drafting to the Gold Coast Suns in the second round of the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.

Lemmens is the Port Adelaide's 69th player to be selected in a National Draft while Reynolds and Gray are the 16th and 17th players to be rookie-listed by an AFL club.
