ROUND 16 is upon us and this means that we are now heading quickly towards the pointy end of the Fantasy season. By now hopefully your teams are full of premiums and you are now just making tweaks and upgrades. And what a time we have upon us for upgrades. Let’s look at the obvious two this week.

We now have our two biggest fantasy stud players back on the park. Tom Rockliff and Gary Ablett have both returned with some great form. Ablett scored 119 and Rockliff scored 128 which are fantastic for their second and first games back from injury. To get these guys you will need to part with $510k for Rockliff, he will only get more expensive with his break even sitting at a low 63. Ablett is priced at $566k. We were all waiting for him to bottom out, he has a break even of 112 which is very achievable for him this week.

So to get these guys you need someone to trade out and some cash. Many are looking at trading out Joel Selwood given he hasn’t been performing of late and he has a week off through suspension. Some others have considered Jordan Lewis given his period of low scores lately, however, I would probably lean towards Selwood at this stage if you have him. I would really be looking for your least reliable midfielder, Jordan Lewis may fit that bill in your side, but really look for the guys who haven’t got history on their side, Jordan has that history of high scores.

To make the cash there are a few rookies that are nice and cheap that you could downgrade to. Riley Knight from Adelaide is only $143k and has a break even of -9. His 73 in his first game shows you that he can score and could be handy on your bench. He also has midfield/forward eligibility which can also be quite handy. Another option would be Tom Fields down back. He is only $141k with a break even of -7. He also scored well in his first game with a 69. An added bonus with him is that Carlton are probably not going to make finals so John Barker is more likely to play the kids for the rest of the season.

If you don’t have Kane Lambert yet you could downgrade to him at $148k. He has had the green vest which has put his average at 35.5, so don’t worry too much. Once again he has dual position eligibility which is very handy. The last option that I would look at is a little more pricey is Caleb Daniel who is $194k. He has played two games and is averaging 63. He seems to have a spot in the team at the moment, but there are a couple of dogs due back shortly. So just be careful if you are looking to bring him in.

So the key for trading this week is to get one of these guys in, it doesn’t matter how, just do it! If you have one from last week, then try and get the other one back in too! They will score well for the rest of the season and you may find yourself in trouble in your matchups if you don’t have at least one of them.
