PORT Adelaide recruit Katelyn Pope was named in the 2023 SANFLW The Advertiser team of the year on Tuesday night.
Playing for North Adelaide, she recorded nine games and averaged 20.1 disposals, 3.3 inside 50s and 3.8 tackles.
Named on the wing, the SANFLW praised her leg speed and long left-foot kick, which she demonstrated throughout an impressive campaign with the Roosters.
The 27-year-old was picked up by the Power in the AFLW Supplementary Draft in April, after having a strong start to the state-league season and impressing coaches with her approach as a training partner with the club in 2022.
In 2021, she was signed by West Coast as an injury replacement player, with the zippy midfielder going on to play six AFLW games.
A former professional cricketer, Pope has almost a decade of experience in high-performance sport behind her, and will be working hard to earn a club debut in the upcoming season.
