PORT Adelaide is 60,000 members strong.
It is the first time the club has reached the milestone in its history, and comes on the back of record membership tallies set each year since 2013.
On Friday morning, the club's official tally was clocked at 60,035 members, with that figure likely to increase again with general admission and three-game memberships still on sale.
It is a trend that has remained distinctly upward, with Port Adelaide enjoying a 106% rise in total members since it reunited its AFL and SANFL branches in 2010.
Then, the club's tally was 29,029.
The tally is a welcome early birthday present for the club, which celebrates its 145th year since establishment next week.
“Port Adelaide is nothing without its members, we are a community club that has been underpinned by the commitment of our members for well over 100 years and this year is no exception,” chief executive Keith Thomas told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“We can have all the bells and whistles such as great facilities, a strong playing group, cutting-edge coaching and fitness staff and the like, but if this is not underpinned by a strong membership base then essentially we have nothing.
“This result is an absolute credit to our outstanding supporter base that continues to stick by our club and back the direction we are heading in.
“Our members are at the forefront of everything we do and the most pleasing part of achieving this milestone is that it shows we are continuing to connect with the Port Adelaide community."
Port Adelaide has seen particularly strong growth in junior membership sales on the back of new initiatives such as the Power Pirateers for young children, and the Power Playground at Adelaide Oval game days.
To celebrate the milestone, the club's official membership partner RAA will give $10,000 to one lucky supporter at three-quarter time of home games where the attendance figure exceeds 50,000.
“Membership is at the heart of everything we do at RAA and this focus is certainly something we share in common with Port Adelaide,” RAA's general manager of sales and marketing Tom Griffiths said.
“Reaching 60,000 members is a fantastic achievement and RAA is delighted to support Port Adelaide in encouraging members and supporters to get to the club’s remaining Adelaide Oval games this season.”
