THE SIX POINTS

1. Central District sit in fifth position on the SANFL ladder and are the team Port is chasing. They face Glenelg, the Eagles and West Adelaide, and have to lose at least two of those games for Port’s window to remain open. Port also needs to win its final three games of the season.

2. The Roosters are coming off five straight losses, most recently a 15-point loss to Central last weekend. Having won four games for the season, North sits eighth on the ladder.

3. The Magpies made it through last weekend unscathed, but a growing list of injuries in the AFL side could cause some movement with selection. Anthony Biemans will be assessed throughout the week as he manages a hip injury.

4. Kane Mitchell was once again among the best in the midfield and gathered a team-high 28 disposals against the Crows, while Jay Schulz kicked three goals and had plenty of it in the forward line.

5. The last time Port played North Adelaide was in Round 3 this year, where a 10-goal second quarter paved the way for a 43-point win.

6. Facing North Adelaide in 1900, the Magpies kicked their lowest ever score in the SANFL, registering 1.1 (7) to North’s 6.10 (46).

FINAL WORD

After a good start the Magpies faded against Adelaide, with coach Chad Cornes putting it down to too many costly turnovers. It’s now do-or-die and there is no other option but to bounce back and attack this game.
