A SECOND-STRAIGHT loss in the AFL and a thrilling win in the SANFL pave the way for changes to Port Adelaide’s line-up this week.
Jimmy Toumpas, Dougal Howard and Billy Frampton were among the Magpies’ best on Thursday night, though the Power would seem unlikely to omit any of its tall key position players.
Certainly Paddy Ryder – in form prior to his one-game suspension last week – is a shoo-in to return against the Blues.
Matthew Nicks also suggested Nathan Krakouer could be considered for a call-up against Carlton on Friday night.
What the SANFL side is likely to see is the influx of formerly injured players Angus Monfries and potentially Matthew Lobbe.
Cam Hewett should also return from a concussion suffered against Glenelg in Round 1.
Port Adelaide's selection will take place at 5.50pm ACDT on Thursday 20 April.
Port Adelaide injury list as of Monday 17 April
Angus Monfries – hamstring (assess)
Cam Hewett – concussion (assess)
Matt Lobbe – hamstring (assess)
Jack Hombsch – knee (1-2 weeks)

Carlton
A loss to Gold Coast at the weekend could see Brendon Bolton throw some changes around at Carlton selection.
Cameron Polson put his hand up with a 28-disposal performance for the Northern Blues against the AFL Academy.
Carlton also expects their blue-chip midfielder Patrick Cripps to run out on Friday night after playing sore in the Saturday night loss to the Suns.
Despite the soreness, Cripps still had 17 touches and nine tackles.
Port Adelaide plays Carlton at 7.20pm ACST on Friday 21 April at the Adelaide Oval.
