1min - SCORE – Sydney goal – Nick Davis
Long set shot from 51m.

2min - SCORE – Sydney goal – Barry Hall
Outmarked Wakelin from behind. Looked to use his hands like all the forwards did last year. Sydney winning some early clearances.

4min - SCORE – Port Adelaide behind – Kane Cornes
Missed a shot on the run from 45m after Wakelin won a turnover due to a missed Barry Hall handball.

5min - SCORE – Sydney goal – Michael O’Loughlin
Marked 20m out and ran into an open goal, we’ve hardly had the ball this term so far.

Sydney have had a lot more numbers behind the ball in our last two attempts to go forward and have cleared fairly easily.

14min - SCORE – Sydney goal – Simon Phillips
All 36 players were in our half of the ground but Sydney were able to win the ball back and ran on to a paddock of space in front of them with Phillips getting on the end.

17min - SCORE – Sydney behind – Michael O’Loughlin

19min - SCORE – Port Adelaide behind – Brett Ebert
Great contested mark – must be close to one of our best so far. Missed from the set-shot though. Would have been nice to break Sydney’s run of play there.

24min - SCORE – Sydney goal – Nick Davis
Another long set shot from the same spot he got his last one this term. We’ve had the ball in our forward line more recently but haven’t been able to convert.

28min - SCORE – Port Adelaide goal – Brett Ebert
Ebert won a loose ball near goal and ran into open goal. It went forward because Troy Chaplin got a great holding the ball on Barry Hall. He thought he could break his tackle like he often tries to do but Chappy was too good and too strong.

Three quarter time - COMMENT
Sydney dominated that quarter but the Power’s late goal keeps them right in it. It’s still hot and muggy so it won’t be an easy last term to play in. Ryan Willits is doing the back up ruck work with Brogan out and is working very hard against the likes of Peter Everitt.

Port Adelaide 10.8 (68)
Sydney 11.5 (71)
