THE Port Adelaide Football Club has broken its all-time membership record with a total of 64,817 members signing up in 2023 and counting.

That number surpasses the previous record of 63,240 achieved in 2022 with the club welcoming substantial lifts in memberships and daily ticket sales, increasing the average Port Adelaide home game attendance to a five-year high of 37,083 with one game remaining.

Port Adelaide Chief Executive Officer Matthew Richardson thanked Port Adelaide members for their support throughout the 2023 AFL season, and the club’s impending second season in the AFLW.

“To achieve record membership in 2023 is a testament to the passionate support of our community for their football club, and it’s something that the club and our players are extremely grateful for,” Mr. Richardson said.

“The atmosphere at our home games this season is a true testament to that, and a perfect example of why we have the best fans in the AFL.”

With a strategic focus on building the next generation of Port Adelaide, the club has seen strong growth in all member categories, especially juniors and families, as well as reduced game and general admission. There has also been substantial growth in daily ticket sales, with over 90,000 tickets sold year to date with one home game remaining.

The club’s second AFLW season is driving positive momentum with more than 3,000 members already committed as we prepare to write the second chapter of Herstory.

“AFLW game access members will be able to attend all ten home and away games, including Showdown II, as part of their entitlements this year which is incredible value for money.

“Our recent pre-season match result against the Giants at Alberton on Saturday morning shows very exciting signs for the upcoming season and is a credit to our AFLW program, list management, and the hard work the women have been doing this preseason.

“We will play host to two twilight AFLW games at Alberton under the new lights this year, and we encourage our valued members and fans to come down and throw support behind the side, and to enjoy their new social club and the special place that is Alberton Oval,” Mr. Richardson said.
