In: Lycett, H. Ferrari, Kirk, Jackson, Mead
Out: Evans, Teakle, W. Ferrari, Montgomery, Cheesman, Carter
SCOTT LYCETT has been named to return from injury in Saturday’s crucial SANFL game against Central District.
Lycett last played in the club’s AFL Round 19 game against Collingwood, having since undergone minor knee surgery.
Joining him in returning to the line-up are midfielders Hugh Jackson and Jackson Mead, who travelled to Perth as AFL emergencies last weekend, along with SANFL-contracted players Brayden Kirk and Hugh Ferrari.
They replace Brynn Teakle and Francis Evans, who have been promoted to the 26-man AFL squad, and Ollie Cheesman, Miller Carter, Harper Montgomery and Will Ferrari who have each been omitted.
Cheesman, Carter and Montgomery have been named as SANFL emergencies along with defender Jackson Lee.
A win at Elizabeth Oval in Saturday’s final game of the home-and-away season will secure a finals berth for the Magpies for the first time since 2019.
The last time the sides met, Port Adelaide enjoyed a 23-point win at Alberton Oval in Round 9, with Orazio Fantasia booting four goals.
While the AFL side has not been finalised, any emergency not required for Sunday’s match against Richmond could feature at SANFL level on Saturday.
First bounce at X Convenience Oval at Elizabeth is at 2:10pm.
