PORT ADELAIDE is looking to enter Round 14 in good shape with six players to undergo fitness tests at training this week.

Headlining those assessments will be Jackson Trengove who has served his minimum eight-week period on the long-term injury list and Travis Boak who is looking to return a week earlier than expected.

Trengove will train fully this week and the decision on whether he plays will come down to how he copes with the training load.

Boak fractured a finger against the Giants in Round 12 and was expected to miss between one and two matches.

Current signs suggest he will return by Round 15 at the latest and he remains a chance to be selected this weekend.

Both are currently the two most significant outs for the Power and would be welcome returns against top-six candidates Collingwood on Saturday evening.

“Jacko will train fully this week and we just needs to see how he comes up,” high performance manager Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“Boaky is probably a 50/50 chance to play, like with Jackson we’ll need to see how he gets through this week.”

A swathe of others players will also be up for consideration at AFL and SANFL level this week.

Paul Stewart (back) and John Butcher (illness) were both late withdrawals from last Saturday’s win over the Swans.

While Butcher will be monitored during the week to determine his ability to play, Burgess explained Stewart’s late withdrawal with a “twinged” back was a necessary precaution.

“With back injuries you don’t want to risk making them worse and unfortunately for Stewy it happened right before the game,” said Burgess.

“He just twinged it and we’ll see how he goes training this week.”

Cameron Hitchcock is also expected to play this weekend after missing a week with a rolled ankle, while Sam Colquhoun missed playing in the SANFL on Saturday with a hamstring complaint.
