IN: M Moloney, K Pope
OUT: Y Duursma (omitted), J Teakle (injured)
Katelyn Pope has earned her place in the starting 21 for this Sunday’s game against St Kilda, with the mid-forward preparing to make her club debut.
Pope joined Port Adelaide as a training partner in its inaugural NAB AFLW season and was quickly recognised for her speed and agility.
She was selected as the club’s second of three picks in the supplementary draft earlier this year, and was later named on the wing in the SANFLW team of the year.
The left-footer played six games for West Coast in 2021 and has now been given a second chance at the top level after impressing at North Adelaide, and throughout pre-season with the Power.
Experienced midfielder Maria Moloney has also been named after serving her two-match ban, while Yasmin Duursma, Maddy Keryk and Jade De Melo make up the emergency group.
Julia Teakle is unavailable for selection with imaging confirming the tall forward has a stress reaction in her foot. Teakle is likely to miss two to four weeks of football while she recovers.
Sunday’s game gets under way at 12:35pm ACST / 1:05pm AEST and can be watched live on 7, Fox Footy and Kayo.
