Maggie MacLachlan will be assessed throughout the week after sustaining a lateral ankle sprain during Saturday’s game against Sydney.

MacLachlan underwent scans on Monday after landing awkwardly on her left ankle during the second quarter at Alberton.

Janelle Cuthbertson will also be tested, with the defender escaping serious injury from an incident early in the first term.

The 33-year-old left the ground but was strapped up and returned to play, with imaging showing she has sustained bruising to her knee bone.

Tall forward Julia Teakle will undergo testing this week to determine her eligibility for selection, while winger Ella Boag is also edging closer toward her return.

Port Adelaide will name its extended side for this Sunday’s game against North Melbourne at 5:50pm ACDT on Thursday, with the final 21 to be announced at 4:30pm Friday.
