WHILE Port Adelaide awaits the outcome of scans to Jackson Trengove’s ankle and Alipate Carlile’s tight hamstring, a number of other players are set to return from injury.

Having just missed selection against the Crows, veteran defender Dom Cassisi should be available for selection in Saturday night’s blockbuster clash with Essendon at the Adelaide Oval.

Head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au Cassisi’s battle with minor knee soreness would be at a stage he was clear to take on the Dons.

“Dom was unlucky to be just a little way off last week, but he should be OK to play the Bombers,” Burgess said.

And Paul Stewart (knee), Cam Hitchcock (shin) and Andrew Moore (collarbone) will be assessed at training this week.

“The three of them will probably return through the Magpies in their game against North Adelaide and we’ll be reviewing how they get through training this week,” Burgess said.

But it will be Trengove and Carlile who the club is most awaiting news on, with scans on Tuesday set to reveal the extent of their respective injuries.

portadelaidefc.com.au will have further updates on both players when news comes to hand.
