PORT ADELAIDE has signed ruck Ivan Soldo as part of a trade with Richmond on the final day of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.
Soldo lands at Alberton after a deal was completed which will see the Power also receive pick 50 from Richmond in exchange for Port Adelaide’s picks 41, 49 and future fourth round, as well as Fremantle’s future second round selection.
The 204cm big man has played 57 games for the Tigers since he was claimed with the 68th pick in the 2015 Rookie Draft.
A member of Richmond’s 2019 AFL premiership side, Soldo has also spent time in the forward line, kicking 23 goals.
The 27-year-old played eight AFL games in 2023 and averaged 23 hit-outs and a goal per game.
List Manager Jason Cripps said Soldo would complement the side’s young midfield and help develop fellow ruck Dante Visentini.
“Ivan comes to our club with Premiership experience and looking for an opportunity to be the number one ruck, working with our elite midfield group,” Cripps said.
“Ivan is a competitive and aggressive ruck and a person of great character. He will add significant value to our playing group.”
