TOBY Nankervis will debut for Sydney on Thursday night against the Power while Mike Pyke and Dean Towers have been recalled.
Pyke and Towers replace the suspended Lance Franklin and Kurt Tippett, while Tom Derickx's omission makes way for the 199cm Nankervis.
John Longmire said strong NEAFL form had led to the young tall's first game in the big league.
“Toby has been working really hard for his chance,” Longmire told sydneyswans.com.au.
“He competes very hard and has been developing his craft well in the NEAFL and we expect him to play his contribution on Thursday night.
“That contribution will be to bring the ball to ground and put some pressure on which he’s very good at.”
Pyke returns from a knee complaint, while Towers will play his first game since Round 7.
Port Adelaide has made one unforced change with Paddy Ryder replacing Kane Mitchell this Thursday night.
