SUMMARY
Port Adelaide faces the Bloods under lights on Friday with an opportunity to finish its two trial games with an unblemished ledger. Against the reigning premiers, it will be a test of how well Port's youth can stand up to far more mature opponents.
WHERE AND WHEN: Richmond Oval, Friday 7.10am ACDT (free entry)
ACADEMY STARTS: 4:30pm
TV AND RADIO: No broadcast
THE FOUR POINTS
1. This will be the first time the Bloods and Port have played since West won last year's qualifying final. They went on to win the flag.
2. Port Adelaide will again look to expose its new players to the SANFL this year, so expect to see most of the club's newest draftees in action once again.
3. West Adelaide will be looking to start their premiership defence strongly and this will be the Bloods' second of four trial games before the start of the season. They might opt for a blended team of youth and experience as a result.
4. Port plays this match as a night game at Richmond Oval, but it won't serve much benefit to the Magpies in terms of night experience - Port only has one night match in 2016 - and that's in Round 1 against Norwood.
FINAL WORD
Last week's positive start against the Crows will hopefully bode well for the Magpies going into a challenge against the reigning premiers. Entry to Richmond is free.
