SHINEAH Goody has marked her return to the SANFLW competition with a dominant showing, guiding Woodville-West Torrens to its first win of the season.

In her first game of the campaign, the Port Adelaide draftee and Eagles 2023 Best and Fairest winner racked up an incredible 14 tackles to go with 20 disposals and three clearances to be the highest ranked player on the ground at Thebarton Oval.

The Eagles pulled away from Norwood in the second and third quarters to lead by 21 points at three-quarter time before the fast-finishing Redlegs came back late to fall by just five points. Incredibly the Redlegs hit the same goalpost at the southern end five times.

Sachi Syme did her best to get her Norwood side over the line, winning six clearances, laying three tackles and having 20 disposals.

At Elizabeth, Jasmin Stewart continued her strong early season form, racking up 28 disposals and five clearances in Glenelg’s 42-point win over Central District.

Piper Window (23 disposals, six tackles, five clearances) and Ella Boag (18 disposals, two rebound 50s) were also strong contributors.

For Central, Julia Teakle battled hard with 11 disposals, a team-high six marks and three tackles, though was only able to contribute a behind on the scoreboard.

Jasmin Stewart was dominant in her second outing for Glenelg, collecting 28 disposals and five clearances.

West Adelaide led from start to finish to beat Sturt by 11 points at Richmond Oval with Lauren Young booting two goals.

Her second major came in the last quarter to ensure victory. Young also had 14 touches and four tackles.

Glenelg and West are now the only unbeaten sides in the competition after three rounds.

South Adelaide’s 42 point win at Flinders University Stadium at Noarlunga kept North Adelaide winless after three matches.

Katelyn Pope was her usual ball-gathering self with 24 disposals to go with a tackle and a clearance while Amelie Borg also gathered plenty of the footy with 20 disposals, six marks and five tackles.

A number of Port Adelaide’s AFLW players have been released to play for SANFLW clubs for the opening five rounds of the SANFLW season, before they return to Alberton officially in early June for the start of their AFLW pre-season.
