PORT ADELAIDE has named its extended squad for club stalwart Travis Boak’s 350th AFL game this Sunday against Richmond.
Boak will become the first Power player and the 23rd VFL/AFL player in history to reach game 350 – a testament to his professionalism and elite preparation.
Last week’s three club debutants – Esava Ratugolea, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Ivan Soldo – will all join Boak for his milestone match, with Soldo preparing to face off against his former club.
Premiership ruckman Soldo was traded to Port Adelaide on the final day of the 2023 AFL trade period, seeking further opportunity at Alberton.
Mitch Georgiades has been named on the extended interchange bench, almost 11 months after rupturing his ACL during a SANFL game.
Georgiades featured in last weekend’s SANFL trial match, with the 22-year-old forward continuing to push his case for AFL selection.
Jed McEntee has entered concussion protocols following a knock to the head in Sunday’s Round 1 clash, and is therefore unavailable for selection.
It hasn’t been long since the two sides last met, with the Power defeating the Tigers by 31 points in the final round of the home-and-away season last year.
The 26-player squad will be reduced to 23 on Friday afternoon, and the tactical substitute will be chosen from the interchange and announced one hour before the bounce.
Sunday’s game starts at 3:30pm ACDT / 4pm AEDT at the MCG, with the final team to be named at 4:30pm ACDT on Friday.
