PORT ADELAIDE will have as many as nine club debutants in its SANFL side for its season opener against Glenelg.
The Magpies will take on the reigning premiers at Stratarama Stadium at the Bay from 4:40pm on Good Friday.
It will be Hamish Hartlett’s first official game as coach of the side, and Nick Moore’s first in the iconic number 1 guernsey as captain.
The side will have a good spattering of AFL experience from Tom Clurey, Mitch Georgiades, Quinton Narkle and last week’s activated AFL substitute Dylan Williams.
Among the club debutants will be AFL draftees Will Lorenz, Lachie Charleson, Xavier Walsh and Tom Anastasopoulos, along with off-season recruit Jordon Sweet who will lead the ruck.
Nine of the club’s SANFL-contracted players have been named including recruits Josh Byrne, Bailey Chamberlain, Beau Baldwin and Logan Evans.
Fellow recruits Dustin Launer and Reed Stevens are among the selected emergencies.
