A CLEAN BILL of health continues to be the order of the day inside Port Adelaide’s medical room, with three players poised to be made available this week.
If so, it would leave just Angus Monfries – who suffered a hamstring strain in a training incident last week – as Port’s only man in rehab.
Most likely to be made available is Hamish Hartlett, who was a late withdrawal from Sunday night’s win over Fremantle with minor illness.
Jasper Pittard (hamstring) and Dougal Howard (knee) will need to pass a fitness test this week, but Port’s head of high performance Darren Burgess is confident they’ll come good in time for selection.
“They have a few last checks to go, but all things going to plan they should get through this week,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“It’s a really positive bit of news, particularly for ‘Dougs’ who’s obviously been out of action with that ACL.”
Angus Monfries is a three-week proposition to return from injury.
Port Adelaide plays the Adelaide Crows at 7.10pm ACST on Saturday 8 April at the Adelaide Oval, and Glenelg at 7.10pm on Friday 7 April at Gliderol Stadium.
