Power goes green with Simply Energy
PORT Adelaide players Chad Cornes and Steven Salopek got into the spirit of AFL Green Round today, courtesy of Power Premier Partner Simply Energy.
As part of their commitment to reducing electricity bills and their ‘badness’, Simply Energy is providing its South Australian customers with energy saving light globes free of charge, through its energy efficiency provider.
Cornes and Salopek – who are ambassadors for Simply Energy – this morning visited the home of Simply Energy customers (and Power supporters!) David and Janice Benton in Pasadena, to change the couple’s light globes to energy saving globes.
Cornes says Simply Energy is participating in the State Government’s Residential Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES) to help residents "be energy smart" and lower their household energy bills.
As one of Australia’s largest energy retailers, Simply Energy sells electricity and gas across South Australia’s residential, small-to-medium business and commercial and industrial sectors.
Simply Energy CEO, Domenic Capomolla says the company is planning on helping as many South Australians as possible to lower their energy bills.
“Our business will soon be increasing it’s presence in South Australia and through our support of the Port Adelaide Football Club, we are excited to be offering Power members and supporters the chance to take advantage of our energy efficiency offer first,” Capomolla said.
And whilst Chad Cornes and Steven Salopek won’t be carrying out all the installations personally, Simply Energy will arrange for its energy efficiency provider to visit homes across the state to conduct the changeovers.
“As part of this offer, Simply Energy is offering a free Energy Efficiency Package to residential customers, which includes replacing incandescent light globes and inefficient shower heads with energy efficient alternatives,” says Cornes.
Salopek says installing the globes can save household’s considerable amounts of money from their electricity bills.
“This could save Simply Energy customers up to $100 a year on their energy bills,” Salopek said.
Simply Energy will also give away energy saving globes at this Sunday’s big Port Adelaide v Carlton game.
CEO Domenic Capomolla invites Power fans to come to the Planet Teal zone at AAMI Stadium, collect a free energy efficient globe and find out more about Simply Energy’s exclusive deal for Power fans.
This week, Simply Energy is also launching their ‘Golden Bill’.
“Every two months, a lucky few customers will receive the Simply Energy Golden Bill and for that quarter they won’t have to pay a cent – their energy will be on us, free,” Capomolla said.
“Reducing the badness has really become our business philosophy. We are a challenger to the big guys in the market and we’re succeeding by doing things differently,” he added.
