CHARLIE DIXON will suit up for Port Adelaide’s SANFL side as it hosts West Adelaide in the club’s 1000th SANFL game at Alberton Oval on Saturday.
Dixon has not played for the Magpies since May 2022, ironically against the same opponent.
Midfielder Hugh Jackson has been included for his first game of the season after off-season hip surgery. The 21-year-old was one of the club’s more consistent performers last season, averaging 19 disposals, six tackles and five clearances per game.
Versatile SANFL contracted player Miller Carter has been named to return after a knee injury suffered in the Round 2 game against the Bloods at Waikerie, while fellow father-son Preston Cockatoo-Collins and midfielder Bailey Chamberlain have also been included in the line-up.
The extended interchange bench includes Dylan Aldridge, Dustin Launer, Will O’Brien, Kye Roberts and Harry Williams.
Hamish Hartlett’s side will be without the injured Trent McKenzie along with forwards Ollie Lord and Quinton Narkle, ruck Dante Visentini, winger Will Lorenz and backman Dylan Williams, who have been called into an extended AFL squad for Sunday’s clash with Greater Western Sydney.
However, AFL emergencies have not been included in the Magpies line-up so those who do not travel to Sydney will be able to feature in the SANFL.
First bounce at Alberton Oval is at 2:10pm on Saturday, with gates open from 12:30pm.
