PORT ADELAIDE could have an unchanged line-up for Saturday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs, though a handful of players are pushing for selection.

Missing 2024 regulars Esava Ratugolea, Jase Burgoyne, Charlie Dixon and Willie Rioli, the Power beat St Kilda at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, coming away with a couple of minor injury concerns.

While Ratugolea is likely to miss at least another week with a hamstring injury and Dixon still has one game to serve of a three-game suspension, Burgoyne and Rioli could be available to return to the side this week.

A calf injury saw Rioli miss three games before illness kept him out of the weekend’s win against the Saints.

He has since recovered and returned to full training, with a view to forcing his way back into the line-up.

Burgoyne didn’t play against the Saints due to a minor hamstring strain and will need to prove his fitness to resume. He has been a revelation on the wing, averaging 17 disposals and making some vital contributions.

At SANFL level, while the Magpies went down to Central District, Dante Visentini was a stand-out in ruck. He had an equal game-high 20 disposals and 44 hit-outs, as well as six tackles, five clearances and seven marks. He also got on the scoresheet with a goal late in the last quarter.

Small forwards Jed McEntee and Francis Evans were among Port’s best at Alberton on Saturday. McEntee had 17 disposals, nine tackles and six clearances playing more on ball than forward, while Evans chimed in with 15 touches, eight tackles and 2.3.

Hugh Jackson (16 disposals, nine tackles, one goal) and Tom Clurey (14 disposals, five marks, three tackles) also caught the eye on a dreary day.

Port Adelaide will name its side to face the Bulldogs on Thursday evening at 5:50pm ACST.

Saturday’s game gets underway at 1:15pm and is part of the AFL’s Kids Go Free promotion with free access for children aged 14 and under.
