PORT ADELAIDE will face two stern tests as it gears up for the NAB AFLW season with confirmation of the pre-season fixtures.

Before Lauren Arnell’s side kicks off its season with a Showdown against the Crows at Alberton Oval on Saturday, 31 August, the teams will meet in a pre-season match simulation.

That session will take place at Port Augusta’s Central Oval on Sunday, 11 August from 1pm. The clubs will decide the format, number of players used, game length and number of breaks.

Port Adelaide will then host Melbourne in an official practice match at Alberton from 11am on Sunday, 18 August.

It will be the first meeting between the sides, two seasons into Port Adelaide’s time in the AFLW.

Between them, the Crows and Demons have won four of the seven AFLW premierships.

Practice matches are free to attend and will also be streamed on club websites.

More information on the match simulation and practice game will be available soon.
