PORT ADELAIDE could go in unchanged for Friday night’s big clash with Carlton though several players who didn’t feature in the win over Richmond at the weekend will be in the mix for selection.

During his press conference on Monday, assistant coach Josh Carr confirmed captain Connor Rozee was not in any doubt to front up against the Blues despite a late hit to his hip pointer, while Lachie Jones and Kane Farrell were also expected to be available after missing against the Tigers with injury.

Jones is feeling well and working through the final stages of the concussion protocols while Farrell had a low-grade hamstring strain but has trained strongly since last Friday and is in contention to return.

There were also some strong showings in the SANFL that will give the selectors food for thought. Wingman Will Lorenz was the leading disposal getter on the ground in the loss to South Adelaide on Sunday with 25 touches. He also had four tackles, four clearances and nine inside 50s, capping his day with a goal in the second quarter.

Defender Ryan Burton, in his first game back from a foot injury, had 22 disposals, three tackles and seven inside 50s while another backman returning from injury, Josh Sinn, also won plenty of the ball. Sinn had 19 disposals and a goal to go with four tackles.

Ruck Dante Visentini kept knocking on the door for a third AFL game of the season. He was the dominant big man on the ground with a game-high 41 hit-outs and seven tackles along with 18 disposals, three clearances and a goal.

Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side for Friday night’s game against the Blues, which gets underway at 7:10pm ACST / 7:40pm AEST.
