New: Jacob Moss

JACOB MOSS will make his SANFL debut in Port Adelaide’s side to face Woodville-West Torrens on Sunday.

Former basketballer Moss will join Port Adelaide’s AFL list as a category B rookie in 2025 but has been granted permission to train with the Power for the rest of the season and be selected to play in the SANFL.

The 198-centimetre 19-year-old played some junior football at West Adelaide but hasn’t donned a footy jumper since the under 15s.

Season-ending injuries to defenders Kyle Marshall and Trent McKenzie see them out of the team that lost to Sturt a fortnight ago before the bye, but there are some welcome inclusions, including the return from injury of Jed McEntee (concussion) and Ivan Soldo (knee).

Soldo’s last game came in the AFL against Greater Western Sydney in mid-June.

Teenage father-son prospect Louie Montgomery will play his second game for the Magpies after impressing against the Double Blues on debut, while SANFL contracted players Miller Carter, Hugh Ferrari, Aidan Turner and Harry Williams have also been included in an extended squad.

First bounce at Alberton Oval on Sunday is at 2:10pm.

The game will be a celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of Port Adelaide’s 1994 Premiership win over the Eagles, with some members of that side to be in attendance.

Gates at Alberton open at 12:30pm with more information available at the SANFL Game Day Hub.
