Port Adelaide has broken its all-time membership record, reaching more than 70,000 members for the first time in club history.

The historic achievement comes on the eve of a sold-out Showdown LVI with a crowd of more than 50,000 expected on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval.

With a continued focus on the next generation of fans, Port Adelaide has pleasingly welcomed a record number of first-time members in 2024, while continuing to evolve the exclusive initiatives and experiences as part of its member recognition program.

The club has welcomed more than 4,000 AFLW members so far this year, representing a 25% increase compared to this time last year, as the Power prepares to host its first home AFLW Showdown at the redeveloped Alberton Oval precinct.

Port Adelaide Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Richardson, acknowledged this significant moment for the club, and thanked members for their support.

“This is a significant milestone for our club, and one that we are proud to share with all 70,000 of our members,” Mr. Richardson said.

“The players, coaches, and staff are incredibly thankful for the loyalty and support from our dedicated fans.

“We feel the passion and energy of our members every time we run out and the importance of this support to our players, and the club, can’t be understated.

“Our members are the cornerstone of our club. We have the best fans in the league, and their loyalty to their football club is what drives us every day to chase success, on and off the football field.

“We’ve experienced strong home game attendance this season with an average crowd of more than 36,000 packing out Adelaide Oval to experience the best game day in the AFL, and we look forward to continuing to grow that number in years to come.

“As we prepare for a big Showdown LVI clash this weekend, I look forward to seeing as many of our members as possible at Adelaide Oval as we strive to close out the home and away season in a strong position”.

With the competition as tight as ever and a potential ticket to finals a possibility, there is still time to be a Port Adelaide member and benefit from priority AFL Finals ticketing access.

Our AFLW side will kick off its season with a blockbuster Showdown under lights at Alberton Oval on Saturday, August 31. Fans can support the team with membership options starting from just $30.
