PORT ADELAIDE can confirm Quinton Narkle, Francis Evans, Tom Scully and Kyle Marshall have not been offered contracts for 2025.
In addition, contracted defender Tom Clurey has decided to seek other opportunities to extend his playing career.
Clurey, recruited to the club with pick 29 at the 2012 National Draft, debuted for Port Adelaide in 2014 and played 124 games before his final game for the club at AFL level in Round 3 2023.
Clurey said it was now time to look for opportunities elsewhere.
“I've loved my time at Port Adelaide but now it's time to move on and see what other opportunities exist for me to extend my AFL career,” Clurey said.
“Over the last 12 months the club has moved in a different direction with its defensive structure and personnel. Whilst I understand this, I still feel as though I have more to offer.
“Like I said I've had a great journey and made some lifelong friends. I want to thank all my teammates over the years, my coaches, the staff and all the volunteers that contribute so much and who have supported in my time here at Port Adelaide.”
Port Adelaide senior coach Ken Hinkley thanked Clurey for his time.
“Tom came to Port Adelaide as part of my first Draft as coach,” Hinkley recalled.
“We identified him as a player who could provide flexibility for us in the back half and he did that more across his 124-game career.
“There was never much fuss with Tom, and he didn't seek the limelight. He just got on with his job and rarely let us down, often matching up on much bigger sized forwards.
“We thank him for his time and wish he and his young family all the best for what comes next.”
Narkle played 13 AFL games in 2024, including seven as the sub, after being picked up by the Power in the 2023 mid-season rookie draft.
The 26-year-old previously played 41 matches at Geelong as the Cats’ 60th selection in the 2016 National Draft.
Evans played 17 games at AFL level in his second year at Alberton, being signed as a delisted free agent at the end of the 2022 season.
The 23-year-old came to Alberton after two seasons at Geelong and has tallied 34 games at the highest level.
He kicked nine goals and averaged 7.7 disposals this year, featuring as the sub seven times.
Key forward Scully was selected by Port Adelaide in the 2022 National Draft from West Adelaide after a promising year in under 18s.
The 19-year-old managed 20 majors across 18 SANFL games this year, while averaging eight disposals and just under three marks per game.
Marshall was also selected in the 2022 National Draft, with the 20-year-old taken at pick 59.
The defender played 14 SANFL games in 2024 for Port Adelaide, averaging 7.1 disposals and 3.6 marks.
Both Marshall and Scully showed development over the past two seasons but were unable to break into the AFL side.
List manager Jason Cripps thanked the quartet for their service to the club.
“Quinton and Frankie have contributed really positively to our club, at both AFL and SANFL level,” Cripps said.
“They provided good depth for us when we needed it, and we are grateful for the time they spent at Port Adelaide.
“While Tom and Kyle didn’t get their chance to play AFL football, they demonstrated improvement and commitment to the program over the past two years.
“All four players are good people, and we wish them all the very best for what comes next.”
These five list changes follow the de-listing earlier this month of Tom McCallum and the retirements of Charlie Dixon and Trent McKenzie.
