RUCK Matilda Scholz and midfielder Abbey Dowrick are expected to be available to return to the field this week to play a part in Port Adelaide’s maiden finals campaign.
Scholz suffered a minor calf strain and missed Sunday’s nail-biting win over Greater Western Sydney while Dowrick was a late out after failing to overcome soreness.
Both will be assessed as the week progresses but are expected to be able to suit up if selected to face Richmond in Sunday’s Elimination Final.
Forward Julia Teakle continues to progress towards a return from a knee injury that has kept her out of the last three games and will need to prove her fitness to be in contention to play.
Teakle had booted nine goals in seven games before being injured in the Week 7 win over Collingwood.
Defender Georgie Jaques has rejoined some training drills in another step in her rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury.
Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name an extended squad for the Elimination Final before trimming the team to the 21 that will face Richmond at Alberton Oval.
That game gets underway at 2:35pm ACDT.
