PORT ADELAIDE has farewelled Hannah Ewings after completing a trade for the midfielder with the Adelaide Crows.
Ewings will head to West Lakes for pick 39 in next week’s Telstra AFLW Draft.
Having played 18 games in her first two seasons, Ewings was unable to add to her tally this year after taking extended personal leave and making herself unavailable for selection.
List Manager Naomi Maidment said the trade would allow Ewings a fresh start and give the club flexibility during the trade period and draft.
“Hannah took some time away from the club this year and it’s clear a new environment may be what she needs to continue her career,” Maidment said.
“We thank her for what she has contributed to our club.
“While it is sad to see Hannah go, attaining an extra pick gives the club more options during the player movement period.”
