PORT ADELAIDE is pleased to announce that AFLW midfielders Maria Moloney, Katelyn Pope and Jasmin Stewart have recommitted to the club.

Moloney has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping her at Alberton until at least the end of 2026, while Stewart and Pope have each recommitted for another season.

A tough inside midfielder, Moloney was part of Port Adelaide’s inaugural AFLW list and has played 31 of her 42 games for the Power after making her debut with the Brisbane Lions in 2020.

The 29-year-old is renowned for her toughness and selflessness and is coming off a career-best season during which she averaged 13 disposals, seven tackles and four clearances per game.

A popular teammate, Pope took until Round 4 to break into the team last season but played every game after that to take her career tally to 25, providing valuable outside run while playing on the wing.

The zippy mid-forward is a former state cricketer who also played six games for West Coast as an injury replacement player in 2021 before joining Port Adelaide ahead of the 2023 season.

Stewart, 26, has now played 37 AFLW games and booted six goals since her debut for Fremantle in 2020.

She played 10 games for the Power in the 2023 season after making the move over from Western Australia but struggled to break into a relatively settled line-up last year, though the crafty left footer averaged eight disposals and three tackles during her five games, playing primarily as a forward.

List Manager Naomi Maidment congratulated the trio on their re-signings.

“In Maria, Katelyn and Jaz we have three high character individuals who add value to our playing group on and off the field,” Maidment said.

“Maz trains harder than most and really sets the tone for our group with the work she puts in to get her body right. Her work around the contest often goes unnoticed by many but she plays such a key role in helping us get first access at clearance.

“Popey is a ball of energy. She runs hard and has a team-first mentality, which makes her popular amongst her teammates.

“Jaz maintained a positive attitude despite having limited opportunities last season, however we know the quality she brings to the side with her foot skills and footy IQ.

“We’re pleased to have each of the players recommit to the club as we build towards season 2025.”

Port Adelaide’s players are currently in the middle of their off-season leave period.
