IN: C Moraes 31

OUT: J Finlayson 11

Port Adelaide draftee Christian Moraes will make his AFL debut this weekend against Richmond, as Travis Boak breaks a long-standing club record.

Eastern Ranges product Moraes was selected by the Power at pick 38 in the 2024 National Draft, with the young winger known to run all day and put his body on the line.

In Moraes’ first appearance at AFL level, Boak will take the field for the 393rd time, overtaking the late great Russell Ebert for most games played for Port Adelaide.

While it will only be the 373rd AFL premiership season game Boak plays, he has 20 official competition matches from pre-season tournaments that are also counted toward the record, as recognised by SANFL rules, AFL protocol for life membership and the club itself.

The former captain’s impact on the club and the Port Adelaide community cannot be underestimated, with the 36-year-old continuing to topple records and accumulate accolades, as he also moves into outright 11th place ahead of Adam Goodes for most V/AFL games played.

Moraes has been named on the interchange with Joe Berry, Ryan Burton, Josh Sinn and Ollie Wines, with one of the five to be named tactical substitute before the match.

Jeremy Finlayson has been omitted from the side to face the Tigers, but has been placed in the emergencies alongside Ivan Soldo and Rory Atkins.

Port Adelaide will tackle Richmond on Saturday from 3:45pm Adelaide time, with the match broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo.
