New faces Jez McLennan and Jack Watkins headline a host of new players in Port Adelaide’s line-up for its SANFL season opening clash with Glenelg on Friday night.
Two-time Fos Williams medallist, McLennan arrived in the off-season from Central District following a period on Gold Coast’s AFL list while Watkins captained North Melbourne in the VFL and won back-to-back best and fairest awards in the last two seasons.
Along with the return of Captain Nick Moore from injury, they’ll add valuable experience to a young Port Adelaide line-up which features three first-year draftees and eight new recruits to the club.
Coach Hamish Hartlett has named 11 AFL-listed players in his 21-player squad to take on the reigning SANFL premier.
The game gets underway at Alberton Oval at 7:10pm with gates open at 5:40pm.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate with children under 18 free. Concession tickets cost $14 and adult entry is $22.
