Port Adelaide is proud to announce a new initiative designed to support grassroots football in South Australia, delivered in proud partnership with Credit Union SA.

The Credit Union SA Community Footy Raffle gives local clubs an innovative way to fundraise by providing an online platform, high value prizing, and overarching mechanic for clubs to raise important funds.

It comes after both Port Adelaide and Credit Union SA identified an increasing need to promote the game at a grassroots level, with each participating club retaining 100 per cent of the profits generated by the raffle ensuring they have the means to facilitate their respective football programs.

To amplify the core outcomes underpinning the new initiative, the club will also theme its Round 18 clash against the West Coast Eagles as a celebration of junior football.

Port Adelaide Chief Executive Matthew Richardson said he was pleased the club was able to implement an innovative program designed to grow the game of AFL.

“We’re proud of the Credit Union SA Community Footy Raffle initiative, and the role we can play to support community clubs and the growth of the game at grassroots level,” Mr Richardson said.

“The program provides a complete fundraising solution for community clubs to support their football programs and drive participation.

“Each ticket in the Community Footy Raffle also gives the buyer a chance to experience a Port Adelaide AFL game.

“Increasing opportunities for junior players and their families to experience AFL games at Adelaide Oval is an important part of growing the game in South Australia.

“The future of the AFL game across the state depends on building the next generation of fans and players, and supporting the local clubs who provide such an important introduction to the game for many people is something we are committed to through this program.”

Credit Union SA Chief Executive Todd Roberts said they were excited to be involved and looking forward to providing opportunities for connection.

“We see the power that sport has in our community and how providing access can enrich the lives of kids and their families,” Mr Roberts said.

“For us, it’s about more than the sport, it’s about the opportunity for connection. We’re proud to be giving more South Aussies the opportunity to thrive”
