A POWER and Crows player having it out on live radio just days before Showdown XLI is any football-mad, derby-loving South Australian’s dream.

And it happened this morning.

Good mates Power midfielder Brad Ebert and Crow Brodie Smith caught up for some good old-fashioned footy banter this morning, sledging each other in a ‘Pre-Showdown Showdown’ on breakfast radio today.

But it’s not as bad as it reads…

Ebert and Smith have known each other for years, but they didn’t come up with the content themselves – fans did, with the station arming the pair with the harshest sledges written by supporters from all corners of the internet to unleash against each other.

Think; Jimmy Kimmell's 'Reading Mean Tweets'...

And this is how it unfolded:

Brad: Brodie, your last flag was in ’98, which is the average age of your fans.

Brodie: Brad, you keep getting hit on the head this season, hopefully it’ll help you forget about how bad your team is.

Brad: Brodie Smith wears number 33, which is roughly how many times I scream “You’re terrible!” watching a game.

Brodie: Is Brad Ebert the worst kick in the game? He’s gotta be close.

Brad: I went to buy my son a Brodie Smith Guernsey from the match stand – they reported me to child services and gave me a Rory Sloane one instead.

Brodie: Why can’t you get a cup of tea at Alberton? Because all the mugs are on the field.

Brad: Brodie Smith is easily the Crows’ best player….if we’re talking about the SANFL team.

Brodie: We’re at war with China in the Olympics, so as revenge we sent over Kochie and Port Adelaide.

Brad: If it’s the Eddie Betts Pocket, surely it’s the Brodie Smith Bench…

One word…whack! The fierce rivalry between the two sides is more alive than ever - just ask the supporters!

The biggest rivalry in South Australian sport resumes this Saturday night at Adelaide Oval at 7.10pm ACST.
