JOE ATLEY will be a Port Adelaide player in 2017 after being taken by the Power at pick No. 32.
The brother of North Melbourne half-back Shaun, Atley followed in the steps of Todd Marshall (at pick No. 16) and East Perth's Sam Powell-Pepper (pick No. 18), to Alberton.
Atley captained Bendigo Pioneers in the 2016 TAC Cup and played three national championships games for Vic Country.
Considered a quality midfielder who can win the inside football and has clean disposal, he finished second in the goal kicking test at the AFL Draft Combine.
His form at Bendigo saw him make two appearances for Geelong in the VFL late in the season.
