PORT ADELAIDE has entered into a principal partnership agreement with Pernix an Adelaide-based, industry-leading company in data sourcing, capture, analysis and interpretation.
As part of the partnership, Port Adelaide will work with Pernix to develop a state-of-the-art information architecture that brings a new level of sophistication to the way the club handles its huge volume of high performance and football data.
That will enable Port to gain even better insight to its football and athletic programs through rigorous data science.
Port Adelaide’s head of commercial Richard Kelly says the partnership will allow Port Adelaide to continue pursuing its charter of being one of the most innovative sports organisations in Australia.
“Our football department is always on the hunt for better ways of doing things and partnering with Pernix will allow our team to gain new insights into the game, our players and the way we run our football and athletic performance programs.
“This is something we have not been able to do previously, but this partnership is already starting to reap rewards through the development of new and improved data management systems for our football department.
“Partnership with a local company making waves on the national stage is also very pleasing to us, and we’re excited about the possibilities we’re able to pursue through data science with Pernix.”
