PADDY RYDER will have a fitness test this week, but is a strong chance to face Melbourne after rolling his ankle against North in Saturday’s 70-point win by the Power at Adelaide Oval.

Ryder was held on the bench for the latter stages of the final quarter, and was seen icing the ankle.

However it is expected that the in-form ruck will be in the mix come Thursday selection according to head physiotherapist Tim McGrath.

“Paddy rolled his ankle and the call was made to keep him off his feet for the final part of the game,” McGrath said.

“He’ll be assessed at training this week, but we’re pretty hopefully he’ll be OK for next Saturday.”

Matthew Broadbent (ankle) will also be assessed during the week. No other injuries were reported from either of Port Adelaide's AFL or SANFL games on Saturday.

Port Adelaide plays Melbourne at the MCG next Saturday 22 July at 2.10pm AEST.
