AT LEAST one spot will be up for grabs as the Power head into the final minor round game against the Gold Coast on Saturday night.

One certain change for the Power will be the loss of defender Tom Jonas after he was slapped with a two-match ban for rough conduct against Luke Dahlhaus in last weekend’s 17-point win over the Bulldogs.

Convincing wins from both the Power and Magpies will make any other changes difficult, especially at this stage of the season.

Pushing for selection however is Matthew Broadbent, who has spent the past month on the sidelines recovering from an ankle injury, and fellow defender Jasper Pittard who spent last week working through a calf issue.

Both will have to face fitness tests during the week along with Sam Gray (corked quad) and Dan Houston (shoulder) who were injured during the match last weekend.

Jackson Trengove had a stellar day out against Norwood in the SANFL, racking up 24 disposals and four goals and could make a solid case to step-in for the suspended Jonas.

Aaron Young (30 disposals, three goals), Brendon Ah Chee (25 disposals, two goals) and Brett Eddy (18 disposals, five goals) were also solid performers in the 71-point win.

Gold Coast Suns

With Saturday night being the Suns’ last match for the season, it seems unlikely that many players will make their return to the team.

Gary Ablett could be one player making the journey to Adelaide Oval after he was unable to prove his fitness in time to face the Bombers last weekend.

Ablett has been struggling with a persistent hamstring issue but could make a return to the team this weekend if he passes a fitness test.

Jarryd Lyons (ankle), Tom Nicholls (ankle) and Rory Thompson (hamstring) will also face tests this week and if proven fit, could be in the mix against the Power.
