CHAD WINGARD has reportedly been offered a lucrative one-year deal to play for the Bali Geckos Australian Football Club in 2016.

With planes in Bali grounded following recent volcanic activity, Wingard has been unable to re-join Port Adelaide teammates for the start of the Power’s 2016 pre-season campaign.

As flight availability is still unknown, the Geckos have taken the opportunity to make a big offer to the All-Australian to keep him inside Australia’s northern neighbour.

Wingard has previously entertained the possibility of playing football in Indonesia, however his knowledge of the local competition isn’t the best, having confused the Bali and Jakarta teams in a tweet to a fan.

Some of Wingard's Power teammates previously questioned whether Wingard was genuinely grounded in the popular tourist destination.

Port Adelaide’s football manager Chris Davies dodged questions about the matter earlier on Monday.

“No comment,” Davies said as he hurriedly clambered into his Renault Koleos and left Power HQ.

His flight to Adelaide had been previously cancelled four times, with some suggesting a conspiracy from AFL Indonesia to keep the Power star as a marquee player for the fledgling local competition.

The Bali Geckos were not available for comment.
