Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas said the club welcomed the news.
“Having grown up in Adelaide, Gill has a very close affinity with Adelaide and a great understanding of our local market,” Mr Thomas said.
“Gill was a key driver in bringing all of the parties together to successfully negotiate the new Adelaide Oval financial model which will provide a significant uplift for our club.
“Gill has proven to be an outstanding executive and a strong supporter of Port Adelaide and we wish him all the best in his new role.”
