THE SIX POINTS

1. The Magpies already met Central District in Round 5 this year, where a disappointing third quarter gave the Bulldogs the opportunity to run away 30-point winners.

2. Looking at the on-field match ups, the big concern for coach Chad Cornes is the potency of a Centrals forward line which is averaging 91 points a game, highlighted last week with five multiple goal scorers.

3. Against South Adelaide, Kane Mitchell continued his dominance in the midfield, the 26-year-old notching up another 34 disposals to once again be named Port’s best. In the forward line John Butcher found the goals to finish with three, taking his season tally to 22.

4. Aidyn Johnson was expected to return after the bye, but will now sit out the rest of the year as the club manages the youngsters hamstring injury. In better news Jack Hombsch and Jay Schulz are both well over their injuries and could squeeze some AFL listed players back in the Magpies side.

5. As part of the Bulldogs Crowd Cash promotion, all adults attending the game, including Port Adelaide supporters, can win $2000 if the weekly target of 2,730 supporters is met. There is also a consolation prize of $200 to be given out if the winning target is not met. Supporters will receive a raffle ticket on entry.

6. For Magpies fans attending the game out at Elizabeth, there is free secure parking on Goodman Road at Elizabeth City High School, across the road from My Money House Oval.

FINAL WORD
With nine rounds remaining in the SANFL season, every game counts and this is no exception. The Magpies will likely be boosted with some AFL listed players and much needed experience.
