Schofield on Sunday’s win over Gold Coast:
“You can’t underestimate Gold Coast - they’ve been right in games and we addressed that.
"They’ve won five or six first quarters, so we knew we were going to be in for a tough challenge early.
“I think what we’ve shown as a group, is the resilience to stay in the contest, and the game is played over four quarters.
“Fortunately for us, we got going in the second half and came home with a really good win.
Schofield on Port’s inside 50 entries:
“As long as we are getting enough ball there.
“We are generating enough football up the ground and we had some young players in there again, in Frampton and Farrell - they both bobbed up and kicked six goals between them.
“The conditions were trying and the contest was tough as well.
“We were pleased with what we scored.
Schofield on the learnings of Port’s young players:
“It’s always a learning curve week to week.
“I suppose Farrell bouncing back from a Showdown where his good was good, but he knows he could’ve played better, and he did that in tough conditions yesterday.
“Billy Frampton comes in for his second game - he’s marking the ball really well in the SANFL.
“They learnt a lot and in trying conditions they really stood up.
Schofield on the potential returns of Jonas and R. Gray:
“(Jonas) did a bit of running on Saturday at our captain’s run and got through that I think pretty well.
“I think he would get a full week of training in and put his name up.
“Robbie again did a bit of training, so we’d like to think he would get a bit of training in this week and be there abouts as well.
“Two handy inclusions should they get through.
Schofield on travelling over the next month:
“You’d like to be at home but I think there is a real upside to travelling with your mates and travelling with the staff.
“I think it’s a really good opportunity to connect at a really crucial time of the season.
“We are playing teams who are around the mark where we are right now, so I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for us.
“The more time we can spend with each other at this time of the year, it’s even better.
Schofield on Charlie Dixon:
“At this stage he is tracking really well.
“We are probably thinking post our bye is when he will return to play.
“It has been fantastic to see him up and about and moving really well.
Schofield on Joel Garner’s debut:
“He looked very composed.
“He’s very hard at the footy. Reads the play well.
“If you talk about just his attack on the ball - I think the first centre bounce contest of the game, he came steaming through and surged the ball forward and then wanted to front the next contest.
“It’s credit to a young man that’s worked hard at his game.
“I think the pleasing thing is that he showed a lot of composure under pressure at critical times.
