PORT ADELAIDE hosts Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon in Round 9 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
It is just the second time the two sides will meet at Adelaide Oval in their history.
Port holds a 9-1 head-to-head record against the Suns, and will be looking for its 10th consecutive victory over the Queensland side.
When the sides met in 2018, it was the Power who ran out 40-point winners in the wet at Adelaide Arena at Jiangwan Stadium in Shanghai.
Sam Powell-Pepper, Sam Gray and Chad Wingard each kicked two goals for Ken Hinkley’s men, while the Suns had six individual goalkickers.
Travis Boak had 29 touches for the Power, while Ollie Wines, Tom Rockliff, Darcy Byrne-Jones, and Powell-Pepper all collected 26 disposals.
Aaron Hall (29 disposals), Jarrad Harbrow (26) and Nick Holman (25) were the major ball-winners for Stuart Dew’s men.
Port Adelaide currently sits 11th on the AFL ladder with a 4-4 record, after losing its last two matches to Collingwood and Adelaide respectively.
Gold Coast is 14th after four consecutive losses, but could sit considerably higher if two one-point losses had gone the other way.
Alex Sexton has been in great form for the visitors, kicking 16 goals in the first eight rounds, while big man Peter Wright has been influential in the forward half with 11 goals of his own.
Connor Rozee and Sam Gray have each kicked 11 goals for the Power.
Travis Boak - in his 13th season - continues to lead the way for Port, averaging 32 touches a game, while midfield partner Tom Rockliff is also racking up plenty of the footy in 2019 with 31.9 disposals a game.
Sunday afternoon’s match-up between Port and the Suns starts at 12.40pm with kids under the age of 15 in for free.
