PORT ADELAIDE could go into its first home game against the Blues unchanged this weekend with no injury concerns to come out of its season opener win against the Dees.
Despite no forced changes coming from an impressive win against a highly regarded top-4 contender in Melbourne, a few players could still put their hand up for AFL selection this week.
Vice-captain Hamish Hartlett made a successful return to competitive football last weekend in the Magpies SANFL trial game against Adelaide and could be a possible inclusion to make his long-awaited return to the AFL side after suffering an ACL injury during training in April last year.
Co-captain Ollie Wines is an outside chance to be deemed fit to play this weekend, making his return to full-contact training this week after undergoing shoulder surgery in late January.
Aidyn Johnson and Dougal Howard both impressed in Port Adelaide’s SANFL trial win over Adelaide on Friday night, and could get the call up to the Power’s Round 2 side.
Experienced defender Matthew Broadbent is also in the mix to make an SANFL return having sat out last weekend due to minor hamstring soreness.
The Power will announce its Round 2 side to take on Carlton on Thursday evening.
