PORT ADELAIDE suffered its first loss of season 2019, falling to Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday evening.
Despite the 17-point loss, there were a number of key takeouts for the Power as they look to rebound against Richmond at Adelaide Oval in Round 4.
Rozee announces himself
Connor Rozee - in just his third AFL game - lit up the Gabba with a five-goal performance that showed maturity beyond his years.
The 19-year-old finished with 21 disposals, seven marks and two tackles, to go with his team-high five majors.
The number-five draft pick has kicked seven goals in the early stage of his career and has looked very comfortable at senior level.
Boak in career-best form?
Travis Boak finished with a team-high 35 disposals and kicked two goals against the Lions on Saturday night.
The former skipper has now surpassed 30+ possessions in each of the opening three rounds, after collecting 34 and 33 touches against Melbourne and Carlton respectively.
Not only is Boak racking up plenty of the football, his disposals have been damaging - going at 72 per cent disposal efficiency.
Contested game was still in Port’s favour
The Power won the clearances 47-43 and contested possessions 165-158 against the Lions on Saturday evening.
Port also laid 11 more tackles than Chris Fagan’s men but didn’t take the opportunities on the scoreboard when they wrestled the ascendency of the game.
