PORT ADELAIDE hosts Brisbane at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon in a Round 17 blockbuster.
The Lions currently sit fourth on the AFL ladder with a 10-5 record, while Port sit seventh with an 8-7 win-loss ledger.
Chris Fagan’s men have won four of their last five matches, with last weekend’s 20-point victory over GWS at Giants Stadium highlighting their red-hot form.
The Power are coming off a 57-point Showdown victory over the Crows, but have been unable to win consecutive games since Round 5 and Round 6 this season.
The two sides met at the Gabba in Round 3 this year, with the Lions taking the four premiership points.
Brisbane led at every change and eventually ran out 17-point victors, despite a late charge from the visitors.
The Power took a 10-point advantage halfway through the final quarter after co-captain Ollie Wines snapped truly, but the final four goals went the way of the home team to record a thrilling victory.
Eric Hipwood kicked six goals for the Lions, while Daniel McStay, Cam Rayner and Hugh McCluggage each kicked two.
Lachie Neale was dominant for the home side with 43 disposals, while Mitch Robinson (29) and Alex Witherdan (27) were also busy.
Connor Rozee was the best for the Power, kicking five goals among 21 possessions, which earned him a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination.
Travis Boak had 35 touches, while Sam Powell-Pepper collected 29 of his own.
The two sides have always had a strong rivalry, with Port’s only AFL premiership coming against Brisbane in 2004.
The Power hold an 18-16 head-to-head record, and have won five of the last six games between the two clubs.
The blockbuster fixture will take place on Sunday afternoon from 4.10pm ACST, with kids under the age of 15 in for free.
