Dougal Howard can have an impact in the forward half as well:

Howard was swung into attack mid-way through the third term, where he was able to have an impact in marking contests.

While the big man only took three marks, he was able to crash the packs and bring the ball to ground - something the side struggled to do for the most part of the first three quarters.

The 23-year-old kicked two goals and was the ignition for Port Adelaide’s five-goal run that saw them reduce the deficit to just 12 points with nine minutes remaining.

Sam Powell-Pepper thrives on the big stage:

Powell-Pepper had his best game for the season against Adelaide in Showdown XLVI on Saturday night.

The midfield bull didn’t have his biggest game possession wise, but his impact around the contest and his finishing was the standout.

The 21-year-old finished with 10 tackles, seven clearances, seven inside 50s and two goals, to go with his 19 touches.

Clearances don’t always equate to scoreboard pressure:

The Power smashed the Crows in clearances on Saturday night but could only manage three goals until three-quarter time.

Port led the stat 53-36 and inside 50s 69-62 but was wasteful in the front half of the ground.

Tom Rockliff was instrumental in the middle with 10 clearances from his 41 disposals, while Travis Boak and Powell-Pepper each had seven clearances.
