THEY came from all over the state for the running of the Tyrepower Dash for Cash Grand Final on Sunday evening of Port Adelaide’s Round 23 clash versus Fremantle.
Thanks to Australia’s largest independent tyre dealer, Tyrepower once again put the power behind the Dash for Cash half time sprint race that attracted runners from Seaton to Gumeracha, and Mitcham to Macclesfield.
Run in a relay format for the first time in its speedy history, the year of qualifying races resulted in a blockbuster final featuring Daniel Pigliacelli & Veasna Leak (Fitzroy FC), Thomas Truscott and Gerard Dutton (Waikerie FC) and Mitchell Felton & Chad Baulderstone (Macclesfield FC).
A blistering start is the cornerstone of a successful race and that’s exactly what we got at the jump...Daniel and Chad getting away quickly and setting the scene for the barnstorming finish that ensued.
Mitchell Felton, with the flowing blonde locks, flew out of the blocks on the last leg of the race and established a slender lead down the eastern wing that he was ultimately able to cling to and bring home the chocolates for the boys from the Macclesfield ‘Blood & Tars’!
The boys were struggling for breath post race, but wont be struggling for a dollar as they both took home cheques for $2,500 each thanks to the generosity of our Premier Partner and Coaches Partner – Tyrepower!
To prove the club is bigger than the individual, the Tyrepower team also rewarded the winning team with an even bigger cheque of $5,000 for their efforts….Congratulations to Mitchell, Chad and the Macclesfield Football Club.
Once again a keenly fought and thrilling Tyrepower Dash for Cash series for 2019 – A big thank you to General Manager for Tyrepower - Richard Ellery, Craig Russell and all Tyrepower outlets for their contributions over the year.
Tyrepower have been an outstanding supporter and partner to the Port Adelaide Football Club over a number of years and we urge you to support the company that supports our club – Get the power with Tyrepower!
