PORT ADELAIDE travel to Perth in Round 5 to play West Coast at Optus Stadium on Good Friday.

It is the first time the two teams clash on Good Friday, with Ken Hinkley describing it as honour to be able to play on such a big stage.

“We are grateful for the opportunity,” Hinkley said.

“We have a great history against West Coast in the recent past and we are a side that looks forward to be a part of these games.

“It’s not dissimilar to the week later when we go into the ANZAC clash.

“They are great events to be a part of and ones you are honoured to play in.”

Port is coming off the back of two consecutive losses - Brisbane at the Gabba and Richmond at home last Saturday - and will be looking to get back on the positive side of the ledger.

While the Eagles have won their last three games, most recently a 13-point Derby victory against Fremantle in a sell-out at Optus Stadium.

Last year’s premiers currently sit third on the AFL ladder, with the Power falling to 11th after back-to-back losses.

Andrew Gaff has been at his ball-winning best since his return from an eight-match suspension. The wingman collected 35 disposals against Collingwood in Round 4 and matched that feat with another impressive display against the Dockers.

Skipper Shannon Hurn has had fantastic start to season 2019 and was named best afield in last weekend’s Derby.

Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy were also good in last week’s win, each booting three goals.

For the Power, former skipper Travis Boak has recorded four consecutive weeks of 30+ disposals, an achievement he has accomplished for the first time in his career.

Tom Rockliff has also been a prolific ball-winner, the midfield gun made it three games from four with 35+ disposals against the Tigers in Round 4.

Sam Gray was a livewire up forward against the Tigers with three goals, while Robbie Gray and Ollie Wines each kicked two.

The two sides have had some terrific battles in the past two years, with the Eagles leading 4-1 in the head-to-head record over the past five encounters.

The last meeting ended with a Jeremy McGovern goal after the siren to hand Adam Simpson’s men a remarkable come-from-behind win.
